What are the Symptoms of a Heart Attack?

The heart supplies oxygen and other nutrients through blood vessels called coronary arteries. When blood flow is interrupted in these vessels, oxygen and nutrients cannot be supplied and heart damage occurs. If it develops suddenly, it is called a heart attack. If the obstruction in the veins is partial, the blood flow decreases and the chest pain called angina occurs. This situation is a heart attack harbinger.

Heart Attack Symptoms: It usually starts with a feeling of pain and discomfort in the chest, lasts longer than a few minutes, and recurs. Chest restlessness may feel like pressure, tightness, or fullness. Pain or discomfort may also be felt in the arm, shoulder, elbow, chin, back. Other symptoms are nausea, vomiting, fatigue, looking pale, and cold sweats. Shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, back and jaw pain are more common in women. People with long-term diabetes may not have pain because diabetes affects the nerves.

If there is a partial, not complete occlusion in the vessels feeding the heart, if the blood flow continues, even if a little, there will be chest pain or chest discomfort, it takes a short time. It can spread to the arms, back, chin, neck, and stomach. Activity, stress, extreme heat or cold can cause it to start. It is a bad sign if it takes a long time, repeats frequently, is accompanied by heart rhythm disturbance and shortness of breath, and causes a small activity to start. When angina develops, it is necessary to rest, to use if there is a drug given by our doctor for these cases and to consult a doctor as soon as possible.
