Slow Onset Hypogonadism (Andropause)
Slow-onset hypogonadism, known as andropause, is a condition that occurs with a decrease in testosterone seen in 20% to 30% of male individuals after their 40s. Sperm production may continue until the age of 70 in elderly male individuals who do not show slow onset hypogonadism. Slow onset hypogonadism is associated with menopause in women over the age of 40, in which reproductive ability is completely lost within 2 or 3 years due to biological fatigue of the ovaries. However, there are great differences between andropause and menopause in women.
