How effective is the coronavirus vaccine?

Current vaccines have not been affected by the mutation and have protective properties. In particular, mRNA vaccines can be produced in a very short time by recoding against new mutations.

However, some mutations have been reported to decrease the effectiveness of some vaccines. There is no data on the effectiveness of the inactivated vaccine applied in Turkey in mutations, but expert opinions have made statements that it is also effective against mutated viruses.

How do flu and coronavirus differ from each other?

Although the common symptoms of both viruses are fever, cough, shortness of breath, weakness, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, joint pain and headache, they can differ in different symptoms.

In COVID-19, unlike the flu, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, loss of smell and taste, concentration impairment and confusion can be seen more clearly. When these symptoms are seen, it is important to apply to a health institution and get tested and to clarify whether you have caught the flu or COVID-19. In particular, if there are severe complaints such as chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness and severe headache, a hospital emergency department should be consulted without wasting time.
