It was announced that Delta plus also carries the K417N mutation, which was first seen in the South African Beta variant and believed to affect the effectiveness of the vaccine.

The variant in question was seen in 11 countries, including the USA, Japan, Russia and India. It is stated that the variant, which is seen in close to 200 people worldwide, is approximately 60 percent more contagious.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF DELTA PLUS?

Leading virologists of India underline that the Delta Plus variant has similar symptoms to Delta.

Stomach pain, nausea and loss of appetite are considered rare Delta Plus symptoms.
